Cost Benefit Analysis

The benchmark of any audit conducted by AEES Group is to ensure a 10-35% cost reduction is achieved from year one. 

In order to achieve this we analyse your energy usage on a half hourly basis over the previous 12 months to get an accurate 'Fingerprint' of consumption patterns. Armed with this information we run modelling through our accounting grade Cost Benefit Audit Tool (CBAT) with the approach built around paying for any investment through the savings made on current on-grid 'retail' electricity costs. 

We initially undertake an electricity price comparison to ensure the best possible on-grid electricity rates are being applied and then tie this in with the most effective Energy Management strategy, with the report detailing:

  • Accurate cash flow analysis
  • Size and price modelling of the Energy Management Systems to avoid over investment
  • Allowable deductions which include; GST, depreciation and interest (if financed)
  • Both an on and off balance sheet investment approach 
  • Maximisation of federal rebate and grant incentives

This will be achieved through accurate and on demand monitoring, maintenance and reporting and the utilisation of Australian bank accredited technology and the highest grade Clean Energy Council accredited electricians, with all warranties underwritten by third party insurance brokers.

Solar Photovoltaic Power

Solar PV is seen by AEES Group as crucial to any Energy Management strategy, as it delivers real cost savings today and protects against future price rises tomorrow. 

The investment approach is through either an on balance sheet loan, an off balance sheet lease or a power purchase authority. The lowest cost of money is currently delivered through chattel mortgage bank loans, at 3.8-5% interest p.a., secured solely against the generation asset (e.g not cross collatoralised). This approach can generate upwards of 20% net savings from year one. 

Solar rebates & incentives.

Rebates delivered under the Federal Government's Small-Scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES) and the Large-Scale Renewable Energy Target (LRET) deliver upwards of 30% savings on the initial capital investment. The value of these certificates, in a floating carbon market, have increased as of July 2015 by over 20% due to the certainty delivered by bipartisan federal support of the reduced Renewable Energy Target. 

Solar PV technology & warranties

Selecting the correct Solar PV technology set is the most important aspect of any installation. As there are a lot of mistruths out there, AEES Group aim is to demystify the selection process through the provision of a 10 year Performance Guarantee which we believe is unparalleled in the industry. The aim of doing so is to provide the assurance that the technology set will deliver against the forecast kWh output as stated in the business case.

In order for AEES Group to have the confidence to deliver against a Performance Guarantee the technology providers must meet our KPI’s for both bankability and performance.  In addition Smart Modules must be adopted by the client, delivering the following benefits: 

  1. Increased Energy Output - Smart modules increase system yield by 8-10%

  2. Warranty Protection – Smart modules offer the ability to claim against 25 year output warranties and 10-12 year material and defect warranties, otherwise near impossible to claim against.

  3. Increased Safety – Smart modules ensure that dangerous levels of voltage on all cabling is avoided via their PV Safe feature.

  4. Avoid module level mismatch – A key failing of the traditional architecture of Solar PV power plants, reducing production by over 5%.

Demand Management

Demand charges are the bane of commercial businesses.

Every time you go over the operational band as determined by the network distributor, at a 15 minute interval, you push your demand charge up when it is set over the next 12 months.
